FAR NORTH QUEENSLAND'S VERY OWN!
January 2014
Well, what a year 2013 was! I was one very busy girl. I got the privilege to release two songs on Kross Kut Records Volume 6 which were both co-writes as well co-sings. Bit's n Pieces is a collaboration between myself and Peter Salata which is a funny song about a woman who runs out on her man and all she leaves him are all his bits and pieces of random junk. We're both so happy and honoured that this song was in the top five finalist nominations in the TSA Songwriter Salute Awards 2014. Was it All Worthwhile is a song I wrote with Bob Elliston which we based on a character we created from World War 1. It shows a different perspective than the norm on how the war could be perceived and may very well have happened to a good few brave diggers. I've also been writing a few instrumentals with Kross Kut Records Owner/Producer Lindsay Waddington. We wrote three together for Linday and Lawrie Minson's instrumental album. One of the three Lawrie co-wrote with us as well which was "The Ghost of 2TM". If you can get your hands on a copy of their album "Up The Creek", you will be delighted with what you hear, it's a very good album. I am so happy to be working on my third studio release. I've been picking so many talented songwriters brains on how to write a song lately that I can only hope that even just a minuscule amount of ability has rubbed off on me! I really hope you will enjoy my latest offerings to you when it is released. I hope 2014 is a very good year for you, and thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to stop by and have a look at my website. There's music for you to peruse if you so wish to, as long as a couple of music videos which have been getting airplay on the Country Music Channel. Cheers, Michelle Tamworth, Tamworth, Tamworth!! What can I say? AMAZING! This is my fourth year of attending and do you think any of the novelty has worn off for me? No way! It just seems to get better and better each time I go. This year got myself around to a lot of good gigs and shows when I wasn't performing myself. There is just so much talent getting around, so if you haven't been, get yourself there next year pronto! Some of my highlights this year was performing at the "Nia Robertson Presents Storytellers Showcase", which gets you up close and personal with the songwriters in a beautiful air conditioned venue (the Ibis Towers). If you're lucky enough, you get to hear some brand new songs which have never been heard before. Another highlight was performing with the band from Kross Kut Records at the Oasis (pictured above) on the Friday night...what an amazing experience! The place was packed to bursting and everyone was so friendly. If you're looking for an excellent feed, I recommend the SSS Steakhouse. The steak was to die for, and it's only a short stroll from there to the Longyard hotel so you can head over there after dinner for some live music. I must say the part I love the most is catching up with all the friends I've met there over the last few years and meeting a lot of new faces. I'm already counting down the days till the next festival! |

Michelle has a pure style of song writing that delivers from the heart. She sings about life and what really matters. Quite honestly I've had a better day ever since discovering Michelle's music Archives
